The name “kaleidoscope” is derived from the Ancient Greek words kalos, which means “beautiful, beauty”, eidos, “that which is seen: form, shape”, and skopeō, “to look to, to examine”; in a nutshell, the term kaleidoscope signifies “the observation of beautiful forms.”
