The History of RSS<\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]In March 1999, Netscape released the first version of RSS called RDF Site Summary<\/strong>. It was meant to be used on the My.Netscape.Com portal. A few months later, the authors changed the name of the format to RSS Rich Site Summary<\/strong>. Then AOL acquired Netscape, and the RSS-related activities were brought to a halt. Other companies have continued to work on the development of the RSS format, and in September 2002 a major format update was released. You just have to paste the RSS feed URL in the appropriate field. It\u2019s also possible to include description and metadata for each post.
